the fisherman's rib knitted cowl

this is by far my new favorite scarf!

i made this little cowl a couple weeks ago
from the fisherman's rib pattern from the purl bee.
this stitch is so delicious and fluffy and warm
and looks so classy all wrapped up with a coat.

i knew i wanted to make a longer cowl
than the little neck warmer they gave a pattern for,
so i just started knitting away like i was making a scarf.
when i finished my one skein of yarn, i cast off and sewed up the ends.
i'm sure i could have taken the time to find a cleaner way to connect the ends,
but i was just too excited to wear it!

i also posted this on ravelry, my first project there.
i have yet to really get involved on that site, but i'm loving it so far.

  1. This is lovely! I actually just learned to knit from a friend about a week ago and I'm working on a long thin cowl-type scarf. She (my friend) had finished one the night she first showed me the steps and I've been wearing it so much I started one of my own!

  5. What size needle did you use? The stitch looks a bit larger than what is shown on the purl bee.
