sunday dinner - farmer's market edition

this week we finally bought something from the farmer's market
that is literally right outside our house every saturday.
nothing fancy, just some lettuce and blueberries.
(on a side note, blueberries are my new favorite snack to just have chillin in the fridge)

for as domestic as people think i am,
i'm not much of a cook...
something i'm trying to work on, with the loving support of my chef husband.
we had quite the heat wave last week, and salads are my favorite summer time dinner.
so i decided that i was going to make a tasty salad for sunday dinner WITHOUT a recipe!
using things we already had in our fridge.

CHICKEN PEACH SALAD - by me (with help from the chef of course)

- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 peach
- 1 lemon
- olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder
- farmer's market lettuce!

cook the chicken in a pan with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder.
add some lemon juice when its halfway done cooking.

cook the peaches, cut into quarters, in a pan with some butter and salt.
but don't burn the butter like i did ;]
also i think they cooked too long, they were a little too mushy.
i think it would taste better if they were still a little firm.

wash off your lettuce and rip it into salad sized pieces.
cut the chicken into strips, put it and the peaches on the salad.
for dressing i just used a little olive oil and lemon juice.
i'm thinkin it would be really tasty with some sunflower seeds too...

what do you think?!
what are some of your favorite summer time salads?
