printing by hand

the past couple days have been so productive!
i bought the book printing by hand by lena corwin last year,
and finally decided to try out a fabric printing project.
i am so excited about how well its turning out and just had to share a peek!

in the book, lena corwin shows you how to print with handmade stamps, stencils, and silk screens,
including all of the steps from making your stamp/stencil/screen print,
to what type of ink to use for what materials,
to doing the actual printing and all the tricks to make it turn out well.

for this first project i decided to hand carve a stamp from an eraser i had on hand,
and made a simple saftey pin shape.
now that i know how fun and uncomplicated printing is, i've been dreaming up all kinds of projects!

its been really fun to sew with fabric that i printed myself,
and i will be sure to show you the finished product next week :]
i hope that you all have a fabulous weekend!
