handmade graduation announcements

i remembered last night that i hadn't yet posted these handmade graduation announcements!

my oldest sisterinlaw brittany is graduating from high school
and asked me to help her make some announcements to send out to the family.
i probably had a little too much fun working on them...

i created an image using photoshop,
printed it two at a time on heavier 8.5x11 paper with a little bit of texture
then cut them down to size.
it ended up that the blade we were using was kind of dull,
giving the edges a raggedy torn look.
i love when mistakes turn out to be just what you were looking for!

we used a rubber stamp to add some color to the cards
and cut some gorgeous japanese printed paper from paper source into strips.
we then added her picture and a tiny twine ribbon to make a sweet little package.

since we only had to make enough to send to family,
it was fun for me to be able to put in a little extra effort
to make brittany some announcements as special as she is :]
